Firefighters Monitoring Natural Gas Levels in the 8300 Block of Preston North Drive

UPDATE (4:50 P.M.) – The leak has been stopped. Atmos Energy remains on scene repairing the line. Frisco Fire Department units are clearing the scene.

(July 25, 2016) Frisco firefighters are monitoring natural gas levels in the 8300 block of Preston North Drive following a gas line break. Two homes were voluntarily evacuated in the 8300 block of Preston North Drive as a precaution. No other evacuations have taken place.

Preston North Drive is currently closed between Kimber Lane and Lesli Lane.

Atmos Energy is currently on scene and working to stop the leak.

Firefighters say the gas line was cut by a crew working in the area at approximately 1:45 PM.

Frisco Fire is responding with two engines, an ambulance and the department’s rescue and HAZMAT specialty units.
