Dallas Cowboys Announce The Star Community Day

(August 31, 2016) – After a quick sellout of The Star Kickoff presented by Whataburger, the inaugural event at The Star in Frisco, the Dallas Cowboys and North Texas-based Frito Lay, a division of PepsiCo, have announced an open house to introduce the public to the facility.

The Star Community Day, presented by Tostitos, is open to the public, free of charge and will showcase the new home of the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters from 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18.

Those familiar with Dallas Cowboys Rally Days at AT&T Stadium can expect a similar feel at The Star Community Day, including: family-friendly activities, Rowdy and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Cowboys alumni and more.

“Our grand opening event was all about the Frisco ISD students, as well as our partnerships with the City of Frisco and Frisco ISD,” said Charlotte Jones Anderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer, Dallas Cowboys. “From the beginning, we knew the first event at the Ford Center needed to be about the Frisco ISD students and now we are excited to make this about the entire community. The Star Community Day, presented by Tostitos, on Sept. 18 is a big thank you to Frisco for welcoming us with open arms as this project has come to life.”

With Tostitos Championship Plaza, Frito Lay is already a namesake partner of The Star. The 40,500 square foot plaza is described as “where Times Square meets town square,” and will be located at the heart of the facility. Tostitos Championship Plaza will feature a 2,270 square foot video board in addition to interactive displays and a 50-yard miniature football field that will host community activities.

“The Star is a perfect place to highlight our long-standing relationship with the Dallas Cowboys,” said Jeff Klein, Vice President, Marketing, Frito-Lay North America. “We’re especially looking forward to sharing Tostitos Championship Plaza with the greater public for the first time and invite everyone to come visit.”
