Traffic Switch on U.S. 380 at Dallas Pkwy and Preston Road Friday, May 12

(May 11, 2017) As part of the TxDOT widening project, traffic will be switched at the intersections of U.S. 380 and Dallas Parkway and U.S. 380 and Preston Road on Friday, May 12. Traffic on westbound U.S. 380 will be shifted south to drive on the asphalt lanes that previously carried eastbound traffic before last month’s traffic switch. This will allow TxDOT to remove the existing westbound pavement to make way for the new westbound frontage road.

Traffic on U.S. 380 should expect delays between Dallas Parkway and Preston Road on Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. while the switch is being made. After the switch, all drivers at the intersections of U.S. 380 and Dallas Parkway and U.S. 380 and Preston Road should pay special attention to the new location of traffic signals, turn lanes, and stop lines and are urged to use caution in the construction zone as people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns.
