Frisco Attractions to Donate Profits, Offer Complimentary Admission in Response to Hurricane Harvey

(August 31, 2017) – Over the past several days, North Texas has opened its doors and hearts to those who have temporarily relocated to the area due to Hurricane Harvey. Several Frisco tourism partners are organizing relief efforts, as well as offering free admission for Hurricane Harvey evacuees. Please see a list of current offerings below:

FC Dallas

The FC Dallas Foundation is presenting the NWSL match between the Houston Dash and Seattle Reign on Sunday, September 3. All proceeds from tickets sales will go to the American Red Cross Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Additionally, complimentary tickets for Hurricane Harvey evacuees for this match will be available. Houston-area residents interested in attending can claim their tickets by emailing HurricaneHarvey@FCDallas.net.

FC Dallas is also accepting relief supply donations through Friday, September 1, 8 am- 5pm at the FC Dallas Front Office lobby and at the Dallas Beer Guardians tailgate on Saturday, September 2 at Toyota Stadium. Proceeds from Saturday’s 5050 raffle during the sold out FC Dallas/New York Red Bulls game will benefit Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Dr Pepper StarCenter is offering free public skating and skate rental during any scheduled public skating session Friday, September 1 through Sunday, September 17 to Hurricane Harvey evacuees. A valid driver’s license with a Houston area address will be required. Dr Pepper StarCenter is donating the Public Session and the Dallas Stars Foundation is sponsoring the Skate Rental.

The Dallas Stars Foundation is also accepting donations for those affected by Hurricane Harvey at each Dr Pepper StarCenter location, September 5-14. Accepted items include new underwear and socks (all sizes), non-perishable food, toiletries, feminine hygiene products and baby diapers, wipes and formula.

Frisco RoughRiders

Through the remainder of the RoughRiders 2017 season, the team is partnering with the American Red Cross to take donations, 100% of which will go directly to the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. During the games, ushers will come through the sections collecting donations by “Passing the Boot” (a Texas League tradition).  The Riders have also created a limited edition “Texas Tough” T-Shirt available both in-store and online for a minimum $10 donation.  In addition, the team is donating 10% of all Riders Outpost Team Store sales to the cause.

National Videogame Museum

The National Videogame Museum (NVM) will donate half of all admission sales from this Saturday, September 2, to the United Way of Greater Houston. The museum will guarantee a minimum donation of $2,500.
