DALLAS – July 1, 2011 – After nearly 50 years of helping power Texas, Luminant’s retired Collin Power Plant is entering a new phase – providing additional resources through a significant post-operation recycling effort. Roughly 85 percent of the 153-megawatt plant will be recycled following this morning’s implosion. That includes steel, copper and parts and pieces of large equipment dismantled during the demolition process.
