(October 14, 2011) Frisco residents are invited to call in – or come by for the third and final Town Hall Meeting of 2011 this Monday night, October 17. Once again, the City of Frisco meeting will feature a telephone format, allowing residents to join the meeting from the convenience of their homes.
“The public response to the telephone format for Town Halls has been so great, we want to continue using this tool to reach a greater number of people,” said Mayor Maher Maso. “We have some very important messages to pass on, particularly those surrounding our regional water supplies and local conservation efforts. The more people we can communicate to, the better off we’ll all be.”
The meeting will be held in the City Hall council chambers of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. During the first half hour, city staff will give presentations on road construction and improvements, as well as economic development.
Beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m., the ‘telephone’ format of the Town Hall meeting will begin. Frisco residents may dial 888 – 886 – 6603, ext. 17237# to join the Town Hall meeting from anywhere. Frisco’s registered voters will also receive a phone call Monday night, inviting them to join the meeting.
During the ‘telephone format’, Mayor Maso and city staff will update residents on the NCAA Division I Championship Game, Drought and Water Restrictions and issues related to the Exide Technologies, Inc. battery recycling plant. Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions in person or by phone. The ‘Q & A’ portion of the meeting will follow all staff presentations.
A limited number of 2012 NCAA Division I Championship Game T-shirts will be distributed to residents who attend the meeting in person.
Town Hall meetings last two hours and are typically held three times each year.
