(June 24, 2014) As part of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) widening project, traffic on eastbound Main Street between Preston Road and Custer Road will experience intermittent delay for the next month while the new lanes are being paved. Starting Wednesday, June 25, the TxDOT contractor will begin paving the new lanes near Preston Road and move eastward over the course of each day. Wherever the paving work is located on a particular day, eastbound traffic will occasionally be stopped by flaggers to allow trucks to enter or leave the construction zone.
When the paving work reaches Custer Road in about two weeks, it will return to Preston Road to start paving another new lane and work eastward again over the final two weeks.
Motorists may experience some delay on eastbound Main Street between Preston Road and Custer Road during this construction phase. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to watch for flaggers.
