Main Street and Frisco Square Streets Closed Saturday Morning for 5K Race 

(May 12, 2011) The streets surrounding Frisco Square and the George Purefoy Municipal Center will be closed Saturday morning, May 14, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. for the Head for the Cure 5K Race.  Main Street will be closed between World Cup Way and John W. Elliot Drive; Frisco Street will be closed south of Technology Drive; and most of the streets in Frisco Square will be closed between Main Street and Burnham Street.  Through traffic on Main Street will be detoured around the race by using World Cup Way, Technology Drive, and John W. During this closure, there will be no vehicular access to Coleman Boulevard or the plaza in front of City Hall and Frisco Public Library; however, motorists will be able to access the free municipal parking garage behind the building by approaching it on Page Street from the west.  Although direct access to the drive-up library book drop-off will be temporarily blocked during this time, library patrons can drive into the parking garage to park near the book drop-off.  The Library opens at 10:00 a.m., at which time all roads will be open.

Race participants will park at Pizza Hut Park.  During the street closures, Pizza Hut Park can be accessed on its west side via World Cup Way.

The following groups should use northbound Dallas Parkway or World Cup Way to reach Page Street to access the free parking garage behind City Hall and the Library:

· Farmers market customers

· Frisco Square customers

· Library staff and patrons who arrive before 10:00 a.m.
   (including book drop-off traffic)

· Residents who live north of the plaza

The following groups should use Cotton Gin Road or John W. Elliott Drive to access their facilities:

· Senior Center at Frisco Square

· Frisco Heritage Center

· Residents who live east of Library Street
