(August 2, 2013) Stonebrook Parkway will be reduced to one lane between Parkwood Boulevard and Rolling Brook Drive between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 3. Flaggers will stop traffic on either end of the closure and then allow traffic to take turns flowing in alternating directions through the single open lane. Motorists are urged to use caution in the area and to watch for flaggers.
Motorists should expect delays on Stonebrook Parkway between Parkwood Boulevard and Preston Road during the lane closure and are encouraged to choose an alternate route in advance. Alternate east/west routes between Preston Road and Parkwood Boulevard are Main Street, Wade Boulevard and Lebanon Road.
This is part of the Stonebrook Parkway Improvement Project between Preston Road and the Dallas North Tollway that will widen the road to a six-lane, divided roadway and includes the extension of an underground water line. Phase 1 added dual left-turn lanes on westbound Rolater Road at Preston Road and is now complete. Phase 2, which is ongoing, encompasses the work between Parkwood Boulevard and Preston Road. Phase 2 is proceeding on schedule and is anticipated to be completed in September. Phase 3 encompasses the work between Dallas Parkway and Parkwood Boulevard, which will be open to traffic again when school starts and will be completed by early 2014. Phase 3-B will repave the intersection of Stonebrook Parkway and Parkwood Boulevard and is expected to be complete by the end of 2013. Phase 4 will add dual left-turn lanes and a right-turn lane on eastbound Stonebrook Parkway at Dallas Parkway. Phase 4 is expected to start in late 2013 and be completed in mid-2014. Information about the project can be found online at FriscoTexas.gov/Stonebrook.
