(August 5, 2013) As part of the Eldorado Parkway widening project, all traffic on Eldorado Parkway will be switched to the new pavement between Hillcrest Road and Fragrant Drive on Tuesday, August 6. Both directions of traffic will now share the newly constructed south half of the road while the north half is widened. The new pavement will provide one lane in each direction with a barricaded lane in between.
To make the switch, traffic patterns will be modified at the intersection of Eldorado Parkway and Hillcrest Road. Eastbound Eldorado Parkway will be shifted so that it continues straight onto the new pavement as it passes through the intersection. Westbound traffic will be shifted north from the new pavement to the existing pavement as it passes through the intersection. Eastbound and westbound traffic should pay special attention to the new location of lane lines and stop lines, and all motorists at the intersection should pay attention to the new traffic signal pattern.
Traffic patterns will also be modified at the other intersections along Eldorado Parkway between Hillcrest Road and Fragrant Drive because the eastbound and westbound traffic will be shifted about sixty feet south of its current location. Although the operation of each intersection will not change, southbound motorists should pay special attention to the new location of stop signs and stop lines at the edge of the new pavement.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone as people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns.
