(February 28, 2011) As part of TxDOT’s widening project, traffic on FM 423 will be switched to the east side of the road in different sections between Lebanon Road and FM 720 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., March 1 to March 4. The specific traffic switches for each day are detailed below. Each day, a different section of the road will be restriped, and traffic will be shifted to the east side to allow road construction on the west side. Flaggers will occasionally stop traffic for brief periods of time to facilitate this restriping work.
Motorists should expect some additional delays in the segment of FM 423 scheduled for work between Tuesday, March 1 and Friday, March 4. Once the restriping is complete on Friday, southbound FM 423 will be reduced from two lanes down to one lane between Stonebrook Parkway and Lebanon Road for the duration of the construction project.
Tuesday, March 1
FM 423 will be restriped over the half-mile stretch south of Lebanon Road.
Wednesday, March 2
FM 423 will be restriped and shifted between Lebanon Road and Stonebrook Parkway.
Thursday, March 3
FM 423 will be restriped and shifted between Stonebrook Parkway and Main Street.
Friday, March 4
FM 423 will be restriped and shifted between Main Street and FM 720 in Little Elm.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the area over the next four days and to watch for flaggers. As the restriping is completed, motorists are urged to use caution along FM 423 as people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns within the shifted lanes.
