The Original Town zoning standards help preserve the existing downtown environment and its historic nature. The standards encourage traditional neighborhood design, with residences and businesses in close proximity.
The Original Town Residential (OTR) standards are designed to facilitate a residential fabric of homes that adhere to historic guidelines. These zoning standards accommodate both the smaller parcels found in this district and the fact that most building sites contain multiple parcels.
The Original Town Commercial (OTC) encourage a traditional, pedestrian-oriented district with a vertical mix of businesses and residential uses.
The Downtown Architectural Standards list the acceptable architectural styles, building materials and façade colors for new development, redevelopment, and rehabilitation projects in the downtown area. These standards help preserve the early 20th Century architecture of the downtown.
