Professional Standards Complaints

There were three Professional Standards Investigations during 2012.  Throughout the year Frisco police officers responded to 116,419 calls for service.  There was a small decrease in this number from 2011 but the number of arrests and citations issued both increase.  There were 3293 arrests and 18,571 citations issued.  Given the high call load and increasing number of arrests and citations, the number of internal investigations is extremely low.

Each of the three investigations involved operations division employees.  A conclusion of fact was made for each investigation.  Both the complainant and the involved personnel were notified of the disposition.  With such a low number of internal complaints, this demonstrates the professionalism that is carried out on a daily basis between the officers, dispatchers, detention officers, and entire staff of the Frisco Police Department.

A summary of the 2012 Professional Standards complaints is below.  Professional Standards initiated complaint investigations #12-02 and #12-03 but they were not completed due to employee resignations.
