Directions:
From Preston Road (SH 289), turn west onto Main Street. Travel approximately two miles. Turn north on 2nd Street. The Environmental Collection Center is approximately 2,000 yards to the north.

Hours of Operation:
Winter Hours (October 1 - February 28)
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday  8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Wednesday  8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday  8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Closed Sunday

Summer Hours (March 1 - September 30)
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday  8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Wednesday  8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday  8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Closed Sunday

Facility is open to all residents. Free self-service “drop off”

Styrofoam, including packing peanuts, is now accepted during working hours.
Please bring all styrofoam material into the Environmental Services Offices for drop-off.

Cataloges
Cereal and dry food boxes
Cooking Oil
Envelopes
Glass (colored and clear)
Greeting cards

“Junk" mail
Magazines
Motor Oil
Newspapers
Phone books
Plastic bottles and containers
Plastic Bags and Film
Shredded paper

Unacceptable items:

Aluminum foil
Aerosol cans
Ceramic cookware
Leaves and grass clippings
Pizza boxes
Common household chemicals (includes paint, automotive, pesticide and pool chemical containers)

Plastic furniture
Plastic plant pots
Tissue paper
Waxed juice/milk cartons
Window glass

 

Used Boxes For Sale

Used cardboard moving boxes are sold at the Environmental Services offices Monday - Friday 8 am - 4 pm at greatly discounted prices. For pricing and availability information, click here or call (972) 292-5900.

Free Compost   

Lawn trimmings collected from the city's curbside recycling program are made into Texas Pure compost.

Free compost is usually available the first Saturday of the month at the Environmental Collection Center. This compost is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis (while supplies last, limit 2 bags per vehicle).  To confirm whether or not compost will be available on Saturday, please contact Environmental Services ahead-of-time at 972-292-5900.
