Kindergarteners visiting Frisco Fire Safety Town will study “Introduction to 9-1-1 and Emergency Services” during their safety program. The class will last approximately one and a ha
lf and includes:
- a short classroom presentation
- demonstration of how to use
various types of telephones
- outdoor time riding jeeps
- practicing pedestrian skills
During the class, students will learn:
- when a situation is considered an
‘emergency’
- how to dial 9-1-1
- who will come to help them when
they call 9-1-1
- what firefighters, paramedics and
police officers do to help others
To assist classroom educators, we have created a Kinder Pre-Visit Teacher Resource Guide that includes an overview of the “Introduction to 9-1-1 and Emergency Services” program.
The kindergarten classroom has a maximum capacity of 45 children. Programs are taught twice each day at 9:45 a.m. and again at 11:45 a.m.
Currently, those elementary students attending public, private or home schools in Frisco or Frisco I.S.D. will have priority when scheduling programs. Other schools or districts who would like to visit Frisco Fire Safety Town will be accommodated as scheduling permits. We will work with your group to arrange scheduling for your grade level or campus.
