The Play Frisco - Parks & Recreation 'Play Patrol' is looking for 'standout players' this July! They'll be handing out a limited number of PLAYcation t-shirts at our Park & Rec Month events listed below, and at our facilities and parks. Find the Play Patrol (hint: they'll be wearing the PLAYcation logo), don your PLAYcation t-shirt, snap a pic and tag @PlayFrisco on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. One winner will be chosen at random to score the grand prize (to be announced)! Get out there and join in on the PLAYcation -31 Ways to Play in July. Be on the lookout for the 'Play Patrol!'

July 2 Road Trip Photography Exhibition - Frisco Art Gallery at the Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 Dallas Pkwy. From here to there and everywhere in between, come and see an eclectic collection of photos taken on the great American road trip. 
July 3 Night at the Races - Dachshund Dash and Hotter 'n Firecracker 5k races. Register online.

July 5  Go Fishing! - Frisco has nine places where you can get our and cast a line! Find a location near you at Play Frisco.
July 6  Play a Round of Disc Golf - 18-hole course "Dash's Track," B.F. Phillips Community Park, 3335 Timber Ridge Drive
July 7 Public Art Walking Tour  - Take a walk around the city hall area and discover artworks you may not have noticed before. Print your tour map (PDF) with details about the artists and their process. 
July 8 Guided Nature Walk - Frisco Commons, 8000 McKinney Rd., 9-10 a.m. Learn about the plants and animals from a Blackland Prairie Master Naturalist: the importance of diversity in nature, identify native wildflowers, the importance of native pollinators such as bees, and lots of fun facts! 
July 9 Cricket 101 "Under Lights" - Information and interactive cricket demos. Northeast Community Park, 2895 Honey Grove Dr., 7 p.m. Equipment provided. All ages welcome. 
July 10 Bring Your Lunch to a Park - Find the perfect picnic spot
July 11 Games in the Gazebo at the Heritage Center, 6455 Page Rd, 10 a.m. Free admission. Step back in time and play some old fashioned games at the Frisco Heritage Center gazebo. Board games, lawn games, and more. All ages welcome.
July 12 Movie in the Park: 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse'  Frisco Commons Park, 8000 McKinney Rd, 8 p.m. Bring your blankets and chairs and settle in for a movie under the stars. Free admission.
Water Safety Day - Frisco Athletic Center, 5828 Nancy Jane Lane, Noon. Become a water watcher and learn about safety in and around the water.
July 13 Play Queenax Functional Training System Class, Frisco Athletic Center, 5828 Nancy Jane Lane. Free trial class. No membership or day pass required. Pre-register

July 14 Discovery Center Open House, 8004 Dallas Pkwy., 2 to 7 p.m. Meet arts groups in your community and catch brief performances every half hour in the Black Box Theater. Light refreshments will be served.
July 15 Guided Nature Walk at Taychas Trail, 6300 Maltby Dr., 7 to 8 p.m. Go off the beaten path and cool off down by the creek. Get a fun geology lesson from an expert and learn about the plants and animals that inhabit this beautiful park.

Bingo Night Extravaganza! - Senior Center at the Square, 6670 Moore St., 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members and non-members welcome (50 plus). B.I.N.G.O.........Bring your kids and grandkids to play a special night time edition of BINGO. We will have an hour of BINGO with special prizes for all ages. Snacks and drinks will be served. Children must be 5 years old to participate in this event. Registration required.
July 19 Dive-In Movie: Mary Poppins Returns, 8 p.m., Frisco Water Park, 5828 Nancy Jane Lane. Float in the pool and lazy river while you watch a movie under the stars at the Frisco Water Park. Friday night family fun can't get better than this!  Purchase tickets.
July 20 A Day of Vintage Baseball, Harold Bacchus Community Park, 13995 Main St., 9 a.m. to Noon. This free event features a vintage baseball game (1800's rules and dress) with our own local Frisco leaders playing against the Farmers Branch 1860 Baseball Team on our Rusty Greer field, a meet and greet with a member of the Rockford Peaches women's professional baseball team (1943-1954), and Frisco area baseball organizations providing history and outreach about the love of baseball. 
July 21 Third Sunday Open House, Heritage Center, 6455 Page Rd, 1 to 4 p.m. Celebrate National Ice Cream Day at the Frisco Heritage Center with the Frisco Heritage Association! Fun activities for the whole family. Historic buildings and museum will be open to exploring. Free family fun!  
July 22 Guided Nature Walk & Nature Photography 6300 Maltby Dr., 9 to 10 a.m. This nature walk is for the birds! Join us as we quietly stroll the Taychas Trail with an expert nature photographer who will share tips on identifying and capturing images of our local feathered friends. Bring your camera or just come and bird-watch! You'll also learn how to use the iNaturalist app to document and verify what you find (time permitting).
July 23 Touch A Truck- & BattleBots: A STEM Event, Northeast Community Park, 2895 Honey Grove Dr., 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. This special STEM event features all the coolest equipment used by our parks maintenance team, police, and fire, and more Come see and touch: Trash truck , fire truck, ambulance, police cruisers, SWAT response vehicles, air medic helicopter, debris blowers, giant mowers and sprayer, a hot air balloon and more! (vehicles are subject to availability) Do you have what it takes to battle the baddest robot? Get in the ring and find out! BattleBots supplied.

July 29 Guided Nature Walk at Beaver's Bend Park, 5011 Legacy Dr., 7 to 8 p.m. Walk this beautiful trail with experts who will share information about the power of water cutting through the soil to become a meandering stream and spot native summer wildflowers in bloom. Learn how to discover and verify nature using the iNatualist app (time permitting).
Hercules Olympic Challenge, July 29  to August 1, 9 a.m to Noon, Ages 6 to 12 years, Shawnee Trail Sports Complex, 6501 Hillcrest Rd. Let the games begin! Run, jump, throw and compete in ancient and modern sports like real Olympians!
