Frisco Fire Department Opens Fire Station 9

(May 24, 2019) The Frisco Fire Department officially open and began responding out of Fire Station 9 this afternoon. Fire Station 9 is located at 15151 Donnie Mayfield Way near Preston Rd. and Rockhill Pkwy. The station will open with a quint company and ambulance company.

Core Construction began work on Fire Station 9 in February 2018. The 14,000 square foot station has two full bays, one half bay, 12 individual bedrooms, and implements the latest approaches to cancer prevention with a hot zone/cold zone concept and a vehicle exhaust point of capture system.

Fire Station 9 was built in conjunction with phase 1 of the Public Safety Training Center (PSTC). The PSTC is directly adjacent to Fire Station 9 and will train firefighters and police officers using a 4-story 6,700 square foot burn facility, 2,700 square foot indoor/outdoor classroom, confined space/trench rescue prop, vehicle extrication pad, and a 300’ x 600’ driving pad. Construction on the PSTC is nearing completion and both police and firefighters are expected to begin training in the new complex in the near future.

Frisco Fire and Police Departments are planning a formal grand opening ceremony for both Fire Station 9 and the Public Safety Training Center that is expected to take place in September 2019 and will be open to the public.
